Introduction

One of the functions of the blood is to convey food materials and oxygen to the tissues.

From these it receives in exchange their waste products and carries them to the excretory organs, such as lungs and kidney by which they are eliminated.

It is an opaque fluid varying intent according to the vessel from which it is derived, being scarlet red when taken from an artery, and purplish blue when taken from a vein, the difference being determined by the degree of oxygenation it undergoes.

On caontact with air, blood takes up oxygen and acquires the red colour, characteristic of arterial blood. Similarly veinous blood takes up oxygen from the air we breathe into our lungs and gives up the carbonic acid gas and other poisonous products of tissue oxidation to the air we breathe out, and is converted into arterial blood.

The blood is pumped by the heart into the arteries and carries into tissues of the body. The tissues take up from the circulating blood substances, which they require for their

a) activity e.g., oxygen to oxidize and create energy

b) repair and growth e.g., nitrogenous, and mineral substances to build up new tissues. The waste products resulting from these processes are taken up by the blood stream which thereby converted into the veinous blood and returned through the veins for purification, re-conditioning and return to the system.

The blood passing through the digestive system takes up the products of digestion which enrich the blood with material necessary for the activity, growth and repair of the tissues. Whereas this same blood when passing through organs destined for the excretion of waste products, e.g., Kidneys, skin and lungs, gives up the products of tissue activity.

If these were not efficiently eliminated and allowed to accumulate, they would pollute the blood and make it incapable to taking up the necessary amount of oxygen and nourishing material and thus poison the system. This would disturb the balance and result in loss of health.

When system of ill-health appear due to the disturbance of this balance, it is necessary to purify the blood to restore it to its proper functioning by the use of some such medicine as SUPA A1 Formula, the blood purifier.
